FAQs

My beef bone broth won't set into a collagen jelly. What's wrong?

If your broth isn't setting into a jelly, you may simply be using too much water. For a firmer collagen jelly, we recommend mixing 1 teaspoon of beef bone broth powder with around 70ml of hot water.

Stir thoroughly until dissolved, allow to cool and place at the back of the fridge, where it is coldest. Your fridge should be around 2–3°C for the collagen to set well.

Leave refrigerated for a minimum of 24 hours to allow the broth to develop its jelly-like consistency.

Does beef bone broth need to be made with hot water?

Yes. Our dehydrated bone broth powder needs hot water to dissolve properly. Add the powder to hot water, stir thoroughly and allow it to cool to a safe temperature before giving it to your dog.

Can I sprinkle the powder directly onto my dog's food?

Yes. If you're using it as a food topper, you can sprinkle the dehydrated powder directly onto your dog's usual food without rehydrating it.

How much beef bone broth should I give my dog?

Our recommended daily serving is approximately 2g for small dogs (5–20kg), 3g for medium dogs (20–35kg), and 5g for large dogs (35kg+). If your dog is new to bone broth, start with a smaller amount and gradually increase.

How long does prepared beef bone broth last?

Once rehydrated, keep the broth refrigerated and use within 5 days. You can also freeze prepared broth for up to 12 months.

Can I freeze beef bone broth?

Yes. Once prepared and cooled, you can portion the broth into suitable containers or ice cube trays and freeze it, making it easy to defrost individual portions when needed.

Can puppies have beef bone broth?

Yes, beef bone broth can be fed as a complementary food alongside an appropriate complete puppy diet. Introduce it gradually and adjust the serving according to your puppy's size.

Can cats have the beef bone broth too?

Yes. Our beef bone broth is also suitable for cats. Always introduce new foods gradually and feed as part of a balanced diet.

What is in your beef bone broth?

Our beef bone broth is made from British grass-fed beef bones, water and apple cider vinegar, which is used as a processing ingredient. The finished broth is then dehydrated into a convenient powder.

How much broth does one 50g pouch make?

A 50g pouch makes up to 1 litre of liquid bone broth, depending on how concentrated you choose to make it. If you're making collagen jelly, use less water for a stronger concentration.
